About Us

Bright Future Teens (BFT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides education in academics and hobbies to under-resourced youth while promoting teenage leadership through tutoring sessions and volunteer projects. We encourage teachers and students to embrace creative and individualized lessons, with unique offerings from subjects and branches all across the world.

Franklin Yang

Founder, President

Franklin Yang is a senior at Lynbrook High School in San Jose, CA, with a passion for STEM research, especially electrical engineering, renewable energy, and optoelectronics. He has competed in the Miller Science Olympiad teams for 3 years and Lynbrook Science Olympiad team for 4 years. He has won 40+ top medals in events at regional, state and national invitational tournaments. Some examples of the events: Anatomy & Physiology, Circuit Lab, Codebuster, Density Lab, Dynamic Planet, Heredity, Ping-Pong Parachute, and Water Quality. He is also a team member of Lynbrook Science Bowl. Franklin is USABO semifinalist, AIME qualifier and USACO Silver Qualifier. 

He is also a national awards winner in FBLA, and a dedicated violist in multiple CA youth orchestras. In his free time, he loves coding, playing board games like Settlers of Catan, or gaming on Minecraft.

As the Founder and President of BFT, Franklin is deeply involved in community service by growing the BFT into 5 chapters globally, which supports 500+ kids and families in education and service. 

Michelle Ge

Co-founder

VP of Sports

Michelle Ge is a junior at Basis Independent Silicon Valley. She pursued tennis at a very young age and competes in many high-level national tournaments. She has reached top 10 in NorCal rankings for Girls 14 & Girls 16 and enjoys coaching little kids to spread the fun of this sport to others.

As the Co-founder and VP of Sports, Michelle manages all sport related activities and services to support low-income kids and families. 

Evan Liu 

VP of Operations

Evan Liu is a junior at Lynbrook High School. He has been participating in speech and debate since the 4th grade. He has experience competing in public forum, and has been on the Miller debate team for three years. He is very passionate about debate and would love to share it with more people!

As the VP of Operations, Evan manages the communication between volunteers and other organizations. He also helps coordinate volunteer class held every season.
